Taking the pressure off and simply starting.
Welcome to the start of a brand new creative journey! Lately, I’ve been focusing on the creative process as a form of self-discovery and deceleration. I truly believe that creating without the pressure of a perfect result brings the most joy.
That is exactly the mindset behind my new mini-series, From Archive to Design.
In this series, I am taking you behind the scenes of my process: transforming a simple design from my art journal into a digital pattern collection. The goal here isn’t to create perfect art right away. It’s about taking the pressure off, playing with shapes, and simply getting started.
In the first video, I dive into my art journal and choose a base design. From there, it’s all about experimenting—using cut-outs, testing different scales, and exploring contrasts without overcomplicating things. Step by step, we will explore, digitize, and eventually upload our designs to a Print-on-Demand (POD) site like Spoonflower.
