Today I visited the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and came home with a few little things from the museum — tickets, the September programme and a postcard.

Instead of putting them away, I used them for today's Sensory Diary.

I made transfer prints from the papers and then added them to my Art Journal.

I love that a day doesn't have to be documented with photographs or words. Sometimes a few colours, marks or pieces of paper are enough to leave a trace.

A small trace of the day.

A short session. A few simple prints. And some unexpected light.

I started with nothing complicated — just a few simple background prints and a little time to play.

Then the afternoon light moved across the table and suddenly the prints became something else.

Sometimes you don't need more.

New layers, new possibilities.
These prints started with earlier Gelli Plate layers and were finished with rice paper.

Now they get a place in my art journal.
One day. One print. One layer at a time.

New layers. New possibilities.

I added a rice paper print to an existing Gelli Plate print and loved seeing how completely it changed the surface.

One layer becomes the starting point for the next.
And sometimes the most interesting part is simply seeing what happens.

Back from the North Sea — and finally unpacking my creative travel kit. 🌊

During our trip, I kept collecting little things I noticed: colours, textures, shapes, light, fleeting moments.

I brought some of those observations into my art journal and translated them into prints and collage.

This is what I’m calling my Sensory Diary — a way of slowing down, noticing what catches my attention, and turning those everyday moments into something tangible.

I’ve written a little more about the process and the 7 things I noticed at the North Sea on my blog.
